I marked the blank squares for trapunto. I used this little chalk marker. It has a thin wheel and lays down a thin line that is easily removed. Perfect for temporary marking that will be removed quickly. This is also a chalk called Miracle chalk that can be removed with a steam iron.
I used wool batting, and sewed down the lines with Superior Thread Vanish -Extra water soluble thread in the top and in the bobbin. I trimmed away all of the areas that I plan to quilt. I have decided not to do trapunto in the pieced blocks.
I have also marked all of the border with the scallops. I haven't decided what to do in the corners. I will mark them after everything else is quilted.
